Records are few and far between for the early years. She possibly served as a fire pump and later as a wireless communications vehicle in Norfolk (but see).
When no longer of use to the Fire Brigade she was sold off, painted blue and converted to a camper van. She was purchased by the Clayton family in the 1960s who enjoyed her for several years travelling and camping all over East Anglia and the rest of England.
The family grew larger in bulk and the mechanics became more difficult to maintain - especially the Autovac. She was laid up, at first in the open but later as a guest of the Norfolk Fire Service at Downham Market.
Recently she has been restored but not to her original livery. "Time Travellers" is a group of friends who enjoy historical re-enacting. The 1940s is a popular period. So now we have Mavis as a wartime WVS mobile canteen to take with us on our jaunts.
She is available to add lustre to your events be they 40's re-enactments, birthday parties, other celebrations and entertainments or even film props.
Please take a little time to make an entry into our guest book. Information on Morris CVs and in particular the early history of Mavis will be greatly appreciated.
